SOAProjects, Inc was incorporate in the State of California in February 2004 and now it is a leading professional advisory firm and offering six service lines that cover a broad range of professional services. SOAProjects’ strategic domestic and international locations allow the Company to meet the unique project requirement needs of clients throughout North America, Europe, and Asia.
SOAProjects currently has two domestic offices located in California and resources in 15 other states and is constantly assessing additional geographies to better serve existing and new clients. SOAProjects has key resources positioned globally to assist clients with international operations, including strategically building an effective global presence in our clients’ most relevant foreign locations through recruiting resources and building long-term relationships with affiliate foreign firms over the last decade. Manpreet Grover
Managing Partner and Chief Executive Officer
Manpreet is responsible for leading market strategies, driving core value of the firm, developing, inspiring and engaging our professionals and delivering outstanding service to our clients. She is a natural leader with over 27 years of professional experience and understands what it takes to create cumulative success.
She brings thought leadership, critical thinking, strong project management skills, and exceptional interpersonal skills to each client and employees. Manpreet has been instrumental in the growth and development of SOAProjects in becoming a global accounting and advisory firm. Under the leadership of Manpreet Grover, SOAProjects has received numerous awards including being acknowledged as the Fastest Growing Private Company over the last few years and Best Place to Work in Silicon Valley over the past few years. Prior to joining SOAProjects, she has over 16 years of experience with the Big 4, Ernst & Young, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and KPMG.
Manpreet has won a number of awards over the years including 2014 Businesswomen of the Year Award by the San Jose Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce, Women of Influence award in 2016, and Women to Watch Award in 2019. She serves on several boards and is the first VP for Financial Executive International.
Manav Singh
Founding Partner
Manav Singh is the Founding Partner at SOAProjects and has many years of experience in public accounting, audit, consulting and business development. Recently recognized as “40 under 40” by San Francisco Business Times, he is an entrepreneur by nature. Before the age of 32, Manav had established and sold two successful start-ups to Fortune 500 companies. He is a recognized entrepreneur in the valley and specializes in delivery of services to such industries as communications, networking, semiconductor and bio-tech. Manav specializes in the technical areas of internal controls, revenue recognition, equity accounting and other financial projects. His background includes seven years with PricewaterhouseCoopers. As one of the founding partners of this firm, he is instrumental in the overall growth of the firm. He is also the current Chairman of the Diversity Committee at Financial Executive International (FEI) in their Silicon Valley Chapter.
Yuko Wakasugi
Partner-in-Charge, Technical Accounting & IPO Services
Yuko is a Partner in the Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting Advisory Group. Yuko has eleven years of experience at Ernst & Young and then seven years at BDO USA, LLP before joining SOAProjects. Prior to joining us, Yuko was an audit Partner at BDO’s in the San Francisco/Bay Area Practice.
Yuko’s main area of focus is to provide technical accounting and financial reporting advisory services to public and private companies, especially those that are in the technology sphere – software, semi-conductor, SaaS (Software as a Service) models, telecom and professional services. Yuko has strong technical skillset and experience in several complicated areas of accounting, including revenue recognition, business combinations, impairment, restructuring, software development costs, and complex equity and debt instruments. She also has experience with various matters surrounding stock-based compensation.
Joe Talley
Senior Partner, Technical Accounting & IPO Services
Joe Talley has joined SOAProjects as a Partner Co-Leading our Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting practice. Joe has more than 38 years of experience in audit, advisory and consulting.
Joe joined SOAProjects after retiring from Deloitte where he was an Audit Partner for 20 years and served as the firm’s Industry Professional Practice Director – Technology Sector as well as Lead Client Service Partner with Deloitte’s Silicon Valley practice. For the last three years of his career at Deloitte, Joe was also a Managing Director for DTTL’s Global Center of Excellence, coaching international member firms through their PCAOB inspections.
Joe was nationally recognized as a subject matter expert for SaaS and Software revenue recognition, was a frequent speaker at internal and external conferences, and served as a member of the AICPA’s Software Revenue Task Force for the New Revenue Standard. As a Lead Client Service Partner, Joe served a wide range of clients, from large multi-national public companies to early-stage pre-IPO companies.
Jeff Womer
Partner, Technical Accounting & IPO Services
Jeff has 30-plus years of experience and is an accomplished leader and trained SEC financial reporting expert with 30 years at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC), including five years in PwC’s National Office and as the firm’s SEC Services Technology Portfolio Lead Partner.
Jeff joins from PwC, where he was an Audit Partner for 15 years and served part of his tenure as the Technology Portfolio Lead Partner in PwC’s SEC Services group. In this role, Jeff was responsible for assisting and advising hundreds of clients in interpreting and applying complex accounting and financial reporting requirements as well as the SEC’s rules and regulations relevant to IPO, M&A, and other major financing transactions.
Prior to becoming a Partner with PwC, Jeff set the stage for a career in technical accounting and SEC advisory work by being selected to serve as one of very few Professional Accounting Fellow’s (PAF) in SEC’s Division of Corporation Finance (“Corp Fin”). In his role as a PAF, he collaborated with Corp Fin leadership, including Corp Fin accountants, attorneys, and analysts, to review pre-filing IPO, merger, and equity financing documents, providing companies with guidance and recommendations to help them meet US GAAP and SEC requirements.
Vincent Genet
Partner, Revenue SME
Vincent is Partner in our Technical Accounting and IPO Group. He has over 30+ years of experience both in industry and assurance and accounting advisory for a wide range of entities based in the U.S. and Europe. Vincent is specialist in Current (ASC 606/IFRS15) and legacy GAAP/IFRS revenue recognition with a strong focus on Software and other Technology sectors and dual Big 4 and extensive industry experience. He leads the revenue recognition practice, with a focus on ASC 606, Revenue from Contracts with Customers.
Mehul Shah
Partner, Technical Accounting and IPO Services
Mehul is Partner in our Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting Group. He has more than 25 years of experience in Finance & Accounting Advisory Services in the Technology sector. He has extensive experience in US GAAP, IFRS, SEC Filings, SOX compliance, IPO Preparation & IPO Filings.
Robert Strasser
Senior Partner, SOX & Internal Audit
Bob Strasser joined SOAProjects as a Partner. Bob has over 30 years of public accounting experience, including 20 years as an assurance partner with BDO USA, LLP. Throughout his career, Bob has worked extensively with publicly traded as well as pre-IPO companies in a wide range of activities including traditional financial statement audits, integrated audits, public offerings, M&A due diligence and international transactions.
Bob began his career in 1980 in BDO’s Los Angeles office and has worked in BDO offices in Washington, D.C.; Atlanta, Georgia; and London, England, where Bob participated in an 18 month secondment program working on international transactions. In January 2001, Bob relocated to BDO’s San Jose office where he led all assurance services in the Silicon Valley. Bob was a frequent instructor at BDO’s local and national continuing education programs and he has also provided expert witness testimony on the application of US GAAP and GAAS.
Miguel Martin
Partner, IT Compliance & Advisory
Miguel is a Partner leading the IT Compliance and Advisory practice at SOAProjects. Miguel has over 20 years of experience in providing systems assurance special services, identifying and implementing optimal use of technology on assurance engagements, providing assurance on the internal control structure, and assessing the audit risks related to the information technologies environment.
Miguel manages and leads a team of professionals delivering quality audits to a variety of technology clients. He has performed IT audits in more than fifteen public companies in the Bay Area. His work has included SOX 404 audits, IT and Business Process Control assessments, Systems Implementation Reviews, and Internal Control Optimizations. His area of expertise has been in Oracle and SAP environments in the technology industry.
Prior to his career in the US, Miguel performed several external audits in the CIPS industry in Venezuela for more than six years while working with PwC Venezuela.
Miguel also worked in the beverage industry (Pepsico Venezuela) for more than two years developing the IS Internal Audit department, designing the IT audit strategy and performing operational and financial audits.
